She was graduated from Hacettepe University, department of Eng.Translation and Interpreting. She worked as consecutive interpreter in the Ministry of National Defence between 1996-1999. Then, between 1999-2002, she worked as translator/interpreter at TAI (Turkish Aerospace Industries,Inc.).She received her MA and Ph.D from the same university, Eng.linguistics. She has been working as a lecturer at Department of Translation and Interpreting at IEU since 2007.Her research interests include pragmatics, translation studies, lexicology and interpreting. She was entitled to Associate Professorship by the Interuniversity Council in 2017 and Professorship by IUE in 2023.

Ilgın Aktener studied translation and interpretation, and public relations and advertising at Izmir University of Economics. She received her MA degrees in the fields of American Culture and Literature and American Studies from Ege University and Heidelberg University (Germany). She undertook her PhD studies in translation at the Department of Languages and Intercultural Studies at Heriot-Watt University. She previously worked at Izmir University of Economics as a research assistant, Heriot-Watt University as a research/teaching assistant, and Yaşar University as a lecturer. She las international translation and interpreting experience. Her research areas of interest are literary translation, sociology of translation, translation of children’s literature and corpus-based translation studies.

Dr Gülden Taner received her BA and MA degrees in Translation and Interpreting at Hacettepe University. She completed her PhD in 2017 in English Language Teaching at Middle East Technical University, where she also worked as a research assistant for 7 years. In 2019&2020, she conducted her postdoctoral research in Applied Linguistics at the University of Warwick (UK), fully funded by TUBITAK (BIDEB2219). She offered BA-level language proficiency, applied linguistics and specialised translation and interpreting courses at Başkent University, Çankaya University and İzmir University of Economics.

In 2009, Nazlıgül Bozok started studying in the Department of Translation and Interpretation at Izmir University of Economics. During her study, she started her second major in International Relations and the European Union. Having graduated as a high honor student from both departments, she started working with various companies and organizations such as the U.S. Commercial Service, the Netherlands Board of Trade and Japan Tobacco International as a consecutive/simultaneous interpreter. In 2015, she was offered a quite demanding position at NATO Allied Land Command as a Protocol Assistant. Having completed her master's thesis on simultaneous interpreting at Dokuz Eylül University, Nazlıgül Bozok completed her Ph.D. degree in Translation Studies at Istanbul University in 2025. Bozok also worked on a TUBITAK 1001 Project (220K032) in 2022.From 2017 to 2025, Nazlıgül Bozok served as a Research Assistant in the Department of Translation and Interpretation at Izmir University of Economics. In 2025, she was appointed as an Assistant Professor in the same department.

She graduated from Ege University, Department of English Language and Literature in 1988. She worked as an English teacher between 1988 and 1994. She received her master’s degree in Administrative Management from Bowie State University in 1994. She taught English, Business, and Human Resource Management at Minot State University between 1995 and 1998. She started working at IUE, School of Foreign Languages in 2002. Between 2005 and 2008, she worked as coordinator for Undergraduate English Programs. She has been a lecturer in Translation and Interpreting Department since 2008. She’s currently writing her dissertation about translation and quality at Boğaziçi University. She has also been a member of Cunda Workshop of Translators of Turkish Literature (CWTTL) since 2007 and translates Turkish fiction into English.

Neslihan Kansu Yetkiner received her BA in Translation and Interpretation from Hacettepe University (summa cum laude). After completing her master's degree in the same department, she received her doctorate degree in linguistics with the Ubbo Emmius Scholarship in the Department of Language and Communication at Groningen University (Netherlands). She worked as an English and Turkish for Foreigners lecturer at Tömer, a part-time lecturer at London University, SOAS, and a research assistant at Hacettepe University, Department of Translation and Interpretation, respectively. Her primary research interests lie in pragmatics and translation, corpus-based translation studies, translated children's literature and critical discourse analysis. In addition to writing many articles published in national and international journals, Kansu-Yetkiner worked on three TUBITAK 1001 projects (111K344, 115K145 and 220K032) as principal investigator. She is, at the same time, a member of TÜBİTAK/SOBAG Advisory Board.

Dr. Necla Kayaalp Koçhan graduated from the Department of Mathematics at Izmir University of Economics in 2010, and also successfully completed a Double Major Program in Economics. In the same year, she began her master’s studies in Applied Statistics at the same university. Between 2010 and 2017, she worked as a Research Assistant in the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Izmir University of Economics. She completed her Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics and Statistics under the supervision of Prof. Dr. G.Y. Tütüncü with a dissertation titled “A new RNA-Seq data classifier based on quantile transformation.” During her doctoral studies, she was awarded a scholarship by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) and joined the Smyth Lab in Australia for 8 months as a visiting scientist. In 2020, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher for 8 months on a COVID-19 related project. Since 2024, she has been serving as an Assistant Professor (Dr. Öğr. Üyesi) in the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Izmir University of Economics. Her research interests include computational biology, statistical data analysis, fuzzy logic, classification methods, Bayesian classifiers, machine learning, and biostatistics.

Ismihan Bayramoglu (Bairamov) is presently Professor of Mathematics and Statistics and Dean of Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Izmir University of Economics, Turkey. He graduated from Faculty of Applied Mathematics of Azerbaijan State University and received his PhD degree in probability and statistics from Kiev University, Ukraine in 1988. After his graduation he worked in Institute of Cybernetics of Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan State University and Azerbaijan Aerospace Agency as a researcher and lecturer. Between 1993 and 2001 he worked as a professor teaching probability and statistic courses in Ankara University and from 2001 he teaches in department of Mathematics of Izmir University of Economics. His research interests focus mainly in theory of statistics, probability, theory order statistics, nonparametric statistics and multivariate distributions and copulas. He has published more than 80 articles and chapters in books dealing with wide range of theoretical and applied issues of theoretical statistics and applications. He has organized two international conferences devoted to the advances in characterizations and models and theory of ordered statistical data in Turkey. He has received science prize of Ankara University in 2001 for his contributions. He serves as an associate editor and as a guest editor of several international journals.

Sevin Gümgüm graduated from Department of Mathematics at Hacettepe University in 2000. Then she continued her education at Middle East Technical University as a MSc student and graduated in 2003. She completed her Ph.D. study in Scientific Computing Program at Middle East Technical University in 2010. She was awarded with the 'METU thesis of the year award' by the Prof. Dr. Mustafa N. Parlar Education and Research Foundation. Since 2003 she has taught Numerical Analysis, Calculus, Differential equations, Numerical solutions of differential equations and Linear Algebra. She conducts studies about numerical analysis, numerical solutions of ordinary and partial differential equations, finite difference, finite element and boundary element methods, numerical solutions of fluid mechanics and magneto hydrodynamics, infinite integrals and numerical solutions of series.

Cemal Murat Özkut completed his high school education in İzmir Atatürk Lisesi in 2003. In 2009, he received his bachelor's degree as an honor student in Izmir University of Economics Department of Mathematics. At the same time, he started his doctorate in Izmir University of Economics Applied Mathematics and Statistics Ph. D. programme and in June 2015 he completed his Ph.D.under the advisorships of Prof. Dr. İsmihan Bayramoğlu. In addition, he worked as a research assistant in Izmir University of Economics Deparment of Mathematics between September 2009 and August 2015. He started to work as a Asst. Prof. at Izmir University of Economics in February 2019.

G.Yazgı Tütüncü completed her MSc degree in Statistics from Ankara University in 2001 and her MSEng in Industrial Engineering from Başkent University in 2003. She was awarded PhD in Operations Research and Statistics from Coventry University(UK) in 2006. She worked as an Assistant Professor at İzmir University of Economics in Turkey from 2006 to 2008 and at IESEG School Management, Lille Catholic University in France from 2008 to 2010.Curently, she is a Full Professor at İzmir University of Economics, Department of Mathematics. Her research has been in Operations Research, Health Care System Optimization, Heuristic Approaches to Decision Making Problems and Applied Probability focusing on System Optimization and Reliability control. She has published her research previously in International Journal of Management (OMEGA), International Journal of Production Economics and European Journal of Operation Research

After having a licence degree in Nuclear Engineering from Hacettepe University in 1992, awarded MSc in Physics from Bilkent, completed İCTP Diploma program in İtaly and received PhD in physics from University of Texas in 2001. Untill 2010, worked as postdoc in US, Mexico and Singapore. Before joining as faculty in İzmir university of economy, he was an investigator and a partime lecturer in Bilkent and TEDU. Area of research: Quantum transport, thermoelectric materials, statistical physics,nonequilibrium systems, quantum chaos, plasmonics.

Prof. TIRNAKLI completed high school in İzmir, Bornova Anadolu Lisesi. He has got his PhD from Ege University Physics Department in 1998. After his 1 year postdoc research in CBPF, Brazil, he jointed the same Department and in 2006 he became a professor. In 2022, he retired from Ege University and immediately joined İzmir University of Economics. His most dominant research topics can be classified as statistical physics, dynamical systems and chaos, as well as data analysis. His scientific research has been awarded by TUBA and TÜBİTAK in 2001 and 2007 respectively. He has also been elected as a member of Science Academy in 2012. Due to WOS, as of September 2025, he has 82 research papers, 1458 citations and 22 h-index.

Abbas Kenan Çiftçi obtained his undergraduate degree in 1982 from the Eng. Physics Department of Ankara University. He then received his M.A. and PhD degrees in Physics from Duke University in 1987 and 1991, respectively. Until the time he joined the Physics department of İzmir University of Economics as a faculty member, he has continued his academic career as a professor in Ankara University. He has been collaborating with CERN. He is a member of ATLAS and collaboration board members of FCC an CLIC. His research interests include the particle physics phenomenology, accelerator physics, nuclear physics and group theory

Nevra Cem Ersoy received her BA in 2001 from Middle East Technical University and completed her M.A. in 2003 in the same university. She conducted her PhD studies at Erasmus University of Rotterdam between the years 2005 and 2010. She worked as an assistant professor at Doğuş University Department of Psychology from 2010 to 2012. She has been working as an Assistant Professor at Izmir University of Economics, Department of Psychology since February, 2013. Her major research interests are: organizational citizenship behaviour, work-life private-life balance, employee well-being and applications of human resources.

Seher Şen has graduated from Middle East Technical University, Department of City and Regional Planning in 1998. She completed her MSc degree at the same university in Urban Policy Planning and Local Governments Graduate Program in 2000. She received her PhD degree from the Department of Political Science at Bilkent University in 2009. She has joined to İzmir University of Economics in 2005, October.

Dr Özen received her PhD in Sociology from the Middle East Technical University in 2007. She specializes in political sociology with specific interest in social and political movements, populism and informal politics. Her articles have appeared in Current Sociology, South European Society and Politics, World Development, Organization, Organization and Environment, Geoforum, Environmental Communication, Environmental Politics, Amme İdaresi Dergisi, SBF and Mülkiye Dergisi. Dr Özen also authored chapters in edited books published by John Benjamins, Lexington and Routledge publishing.
